Long time no chat. What’s with that?
Another creepy crawly that we found on the jungle floor this morning. These millipedes can move!
Here is a giant millipede we found by a soil pit. Also saw a giant ant and a giant wasp.
Another delicious meal, this one in Quirinopolis. The main foods are pretty much the same all through Brazil (rice, beans, salad, sausage, and some cassava), but with a few extras. Like this meal which included a type of meat loaf roll that had vegetables cooked in the middle.
The hotel we’re staying at in Quirinopolis. Its not a bad little spot. So far it has the most reliable wifi, which is surprising.
This is the restaurant we ate at last night in Goiania. I couldn’t believe the amount of food. It started with a diverse salad buffet. Then came the meet, fresh of the spit. And it never stopped! They just keep bringing more meet. Top notch service!
The reason we are in Brazil: to study soils in a tropical environment. Here we are looking at a dark red, iron rich soil that has so much iron in it that it is attracted to the magnet in Miguel’s hand!
